Golden Pilates has changed my life! I have scoliosis and I am much more flexible and healthier since I started a year ago.

"When I was 25, I was in a serious car accident that left me with multiple back injuries. Although, I continued to live an active life style, with exercise, hiking and doing field work for my job, my back hurt everyday. EVERYDAY.
When I was 51, I stumbled upon Pilates at a presentation given by Dianne. That presentation changed my life. I began with Private sessions and was soon also taking classes. The more Pilates I did the less back problems I had. In 2006, Dianne issued a challenge to do the basic five Pilates exercises everyday. That was in the end of January 2006, and I have been doing Pilates everyday for five years and counting. I no longer have daily back pain, I have totally changed my body and I feel that I am only getting in better and better shape. Additionally, Pilates has helped reduce job related stress. I can't say enough good things about Pilates. My only regret is that I didn't know about Pilates until I was in my 50's."

When we moved to the foothills three and a half years ago I decided to give myself the gift of Pilates. Although I have always been active, I could also be described as an “older, posture-and-flexibility challenged” woman with little core strength. I knew I would need a program offering small classes with patient and professional instructors; instructors who insisted on good form and attention to detail. I found all of that at Golden Pilates. I feel I have improved my posture and flexibility and am becoming stronger. I know I have a lot of room for still more improvement, but feel empowered to keep working…with the encouragement and understanding of the Golden Pilates staff. Perhaps it’s never too late to teach an old gal new tricks!

As an octogenarian, I have loved my Pilates Sessions with Pam, because it has helped me continue to maintain an active lifestyle. The sessions are fun and they make my day happier.

I'm one of those baby boomers needing to learn a new way to live so I can stay healthy and enjoy my next 40 years or so. I can’t say enough about my experience at the Golden Pilates studio. I was looking for a way to become more active and to increase my core strength; Pilates was certainly the answer for me. During the past 18 months I have lost over 30 pounds and about 4” off my waist. I can credit my change in diet, being more active, and certainly my Pilates experience to creating the new and improved me.

I think I have probably worked with all the instructors by now and found them to be dedicated to their profession and to helping me achieve my personal goals as a student/participant. I have been comfortable and felt supported from the very beginning. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Golden Pilates to any of my friends or acquaintances (I actually have several times).

Following a rear-ender accident that totaled my car, my physiotherapist insisted that I include Pilates into my rehabilitation program for the goal of core strengthening and stabilization. My entire body had destabilized (but mainly my hips and back) as a result of the impact. When my physical therapy had brought me far enough along, I started at Golden Pilates with the hopes that they could help me learn to glue myself back together from the inside out. Dianne Powers and Cheryl McEachran formulated an individualized program just for me for the purpose of "Pilates Rehab". Thanks hugely to their expertise combined with regular contact with my physical therapist, the success story of my return to health and strength began. Because of the thoughtfully devised sessions at Golden Pilates along with my home practice, mere months after such a jarring trauma to my body I feel stronger than I did before the accident, and I've trimmed inches off my mid section as a happy side effect! I cannot thank Dianne and Cheryl and the entire staff at Golden Pilates enough for applying their enormous experience and unusually intuitive skill towards a realm normally reserved only for physical therapy - injury rehabilitation!

Pilates for the Man: In Pilates you use your core, the muscles of the abdomen and lower body, to both power and support the rest of your body. This translates into your daily life. Sitting or standing, your weight does not simply rest on joints and bones. With your body properly engaged it is instead supported by your musculature, relieving individual vertebrae of the pressure that might otherwise lead to pinched nerves or worse. Athletes who, in the course of their pursuits, make repeated, limited motions while isolating the body parts they engage run the risk of incurring injury. Tuning your body to function as a unitary instrument distributes work among multiple parts of the frame and fosters more balanced movement. Your body responds to the mind and the discipline of your will. It is not your prison but a tool, and achieving the mind-body connection gives you ultimate control of the machine through which you interact with the world.
